What about claims from MHM and SRoque not needing to be leveled after install? Both presses also utilize "floating Squeegees".
I can say that I have 2 years on my press and have not adjusted the pallets once. (10 color MHM e-type) I am not a high production shop so that maybe part of it???
My question to you guys that do level your presses all the time. Why? What is going wrong that you have to level them?
There's nothing really "wrong" with the other presses but MHM got it very, very right it appears. I think I read a testimonial from a big shop, maybe Jak Prints, on an MHM site stating that a key reason they switched to MHM was not having to level platens constantly. If you have 6+ autos in a facility the labor spent leveling would devastate any upfront savings on the new machine cost in a short time. I personally feel the same as you- why should we be doing this constant tuning on a machine? It's just the way of things with most press models though. I would be much less tolerant, intolerant in fact, about it if our press was brand new but it harkens from the early 90s, it was sold to us for a song and it's our only auto, so we're ok with the labor required to keep it adjusted.
