Choking with discharge base and plastisol on top
« on: November 18, 2013, 02:12:45 PM »
How do your choking methods change, if any, if you are using discharge base with plastisol on top?  I'm guessing less choke, but how much less?  Or do you keep it the same?

Keep it the same.

Chokes are actually more visible with DC underbase, BUT the base tends to spread a bit more than with plastisol. Zero sum game.

The one thing we don't do is use a gutter where we might with plastisol on colors that butt up and no flash between. We don't
do that often anyways, but it is one of the benefits of a DC underbase, being able to print large swaths of spot colors in butt registration
with none of the issues you might have on a plastisol underbase. (smearing, excessive pickup, etc) Lifesaver on some designs for sure.
