Ultra-Durable Ink for Nylon?
« on: October 28, 2013, 09:31:32 AM »
I have a customer who would like to order Nylon Windbreakers but has asked if we have an ink that would be more durable than standard plasticol.  We're taking the proper steps and using the proper ink for the jacket, but they are putting some unusual amount of wear on the print area.

Any ideas?

Oh, and we have have thought about embroidery.. but that would be cost prohibitive.

It's a black nylon jacket with a white imprint.  I guess we could heat seal the logo on, but would that make it more durable?  These guys are rubbing the print off with their guitar straps as they swing it around their body.. so it's seeing a lot of attention.

I usually use it for back crests on jacket "COACH" etc. haven't had any returned but think it might wear better than ink?

Union used to have an ink for "patches" that we used for industrial uniforms that were professionally laundred. Might have been two part and has a pot life. Limited color pallette.

What have you used already? We just add Nylabond(Union) to our ink and never had have problems(that have been brought to our attention) seems to hold up well for us...
