Update on GAMECHANGER Base!
« on: July 19, 2013, 11:53:59 AM »
I am happy to report that YES it works, and it discharges amazingly well.  Straight out of the bucket base with ZERO activator, ZERO waste, and a full YEAR shelf life.  Brannon will be the distributor in my area, and there are other large distributors across the US so its local to everyone.   70,000 Peachtree road race shirts were printed with this underbase and plastisol on top only a couple of weeks ago, and they looked amazing.

Pictures of the Print? Or better, pictures of the base on the shirt without any top colors after it was run through the dryer?
When will it be available?  And, I'm guessing nobody knows price point yet?

CCI's Premium Base is so stinking cheap, not a big deal to us to have some waste.  BUT if pigments came along that would last that long that pop like CCI's, now THAT's a game changer...  Or, perhaps that is what you're saying -- can you add pigments to this base that has no activator and have similar results to the other required-to-have-activator bases that you add pigs to?

Simplexity...by GDI inks.  I will post a pic in a few.  They are looking at mostly the underbase business.  That's where its most effective.  You can add other pigments, but they wont warranty the base if you do.  They have there own pigs, but I haven't tested all of them.  For those of you discharging underbase with plastisol on top, this is it.  Price will be higher than CCI and its something you have to balance, no activator and a full year shelf life goes a long way in my shop.

How was printability? Dry in issues? Basically treated like standard discharge?

Is it formaldehyde free technology or is it still the old smelly discharge powder already mixed in somehow ?

I didn't want to say anything either, but whoever is doing the stretch/crack test at the end of the dryer should be given a bonus for his efforts.

Oh, you call your crack guy a distresser?  We may need to change our office titles too.

So when/where can I get some of this???

*we've been reactivating DC mixes, but it's not 100% reliable.  At some point, after 3 activations typically, it clods up and is donesies. Some color won't reactivate at all, some have no problem. Seemed to work a little better with Texcharge v. CCI but does work on both.  Higher pigment load will frustrate this a little. Just an FYI.
