A Sales Tax Question for those of you in NY

A customer thinks they should only pay 3% instead of the 8% sales tax...

I forwarded it to my accountant...

Am i charging to much?

never....ever...you'll probably end up paying MORE for the fatasses behind the desks to fill out the paperwork...anything to do with legal jargon, taxes, if then to there fors...  -forget about it - gimme a friggen answer, yes or no...I hate politics.

Even if you got it back, it's not legally yours, you charged it as tax, you'd owe your customers that money.  Legally and all.

yes i agree...i know its not mine...really looking back I guess i don't do a huge volume with those i tax..it just surprises me thats its gone on this long and no one else has questioned it in the last 7-8 years.

If you did try they would most likley fine you for over taxing. Just leave it alone.
