Thank god its Friday
« on: April 12, 2013, 08:50:55 AM »
We all get the crappy scanned, camera phone, business card artwork that our customers fully believe is camera ready and should not have to pay a single penny to clean up. Below was given to us to use as a new standard for a local high school. Heres the catch the provider thinks its perfectly good art work for us and doesn't understand why we have to charge to clean it up. Uh OK so i get to spend an hour recreating this thing because it is so beautiful I have to make it worse.

You know Mike, I tell customer like that to print it out of their color printers at 200%, then tell me it's fine (nicely of course, trying make a point, not knock them out). Hopefully, future volume will make it worthwhile.

Yes, I often have clients output an example of their art to give them an idea of what will happen at my end using the same process.

The relatively acceptable quality of fast loading 72 dpi computer images have lulled many into a false dream of what will work in our medium.
