Anyone here own a Chameleon?
« on: June 28, 2011, 12:24:08 PM »
...I have an odd request. I am trying to get a copy of one of the exploded/technical diagrams from the owners manual . I would like to use it in the background of a promo/giveaway shirt for the shop. Anyone have it? I would sure appreciate it if anyone did.

...OR any other technical-type drawing of a press? I have the manual for my Diamondback, but each of the technical drawings in it only shows a section of the machine. I am looking for something a bit more complete.

...email me if you can help out. mr.teez@hotmail.com

...thanks gang!!
Thanks TSB gang!!

Have you tried contacting M&R?

Two things:
1. ask M&R for it
2. Find out if it is allowed to be used in the application you wish. You may have copyright issues.

And,  no Chameleon here, but how about a Leopard Gecko?

...I sent Rich a PM over at DS a while back, but he never got back to me. I assumed maybe he was a lil gunshy to reply to ANYONE at DS, and rightly so. Rich, If you are seeing this, I have no nefarious motives...I just wanna design a cool shirt for my shop! Thats all, I promise!!

...Yeah, the Forward shirt is admittedly kinda what inspired it. I know its not too cool to jack someone elses original idea, but Im not claiming it to be my idea, I just wanna do a cool shop shirt.   :-[

...On a side note, (Frog), I hade a pair of REAL chameleons as pets several years ago. Cool little critters!!
Thanks TSB gang!!

Even as a tadpole I must have been a mite twisted because after hearing that they change colors to match their surroundings, I put mine on my plaid shirt!   :o

We've got a '98 and I checked the owner's manual and didn't see a composite exploded view.  There are exploded views of several assemblies but not the whole machine.  Maybe a later year owner's manual or one of the folks at the M&R site.

I'll attach the manual as .pdf when I get to the store office later today.

I don't really think this other shirt is all that original to begin with, it's an exploded diagram of a press with a text logo in spot colors....ohhhhhhhhh  ::)   Award winning, really?  Maybe I'm missing something that isn't coming across in the picture, I've seen they're other one with the galaxy and that one looked pretty rad.

I say use the diagram and make a cooler one for yer shop.

I'm going to make an exploded epson for mine.  I know that guts of those printers better than any press.

And btw, if you want something like a manual from M&R, call M&R.  Don't pm the ceo.  Jesus.

...Thanks Zoo. Yeah, Im not tryin to win any awards either, I just have a slow week this week (finally YAY!) and wanted to try out some new techniques.

...I didnt call the company because I dont actually OWN a Chameleon. I didnt want to ask them to do something for nothing. I though Rich might actually be the best choice to contact, as he seems to make himself openly accessible to anyone over on DS (well, ALMOST anyone).... :-X

In your case it might be possible to simply scan or screen shot just the elements you want and combine and edit all together.

I would think Rich would love to see something along them lines done with his equipment.

The M&R service dept. has always been very prompt in sending me manuals even
to equipment I don't own. (details for considering purchase etc.) Just sayin...

I was not trying to call you out on copying. I just wanted to use it as an example. Its a cool idea and looks good for a shirt design. There are a lot of ways to do it so it will look cool and not exactly the same. Good luck.

...Oh I know, no offense taken at all. I think in a way I am calling myself out on it. It would be just my luck that I would show the finished product here and someone would say "hey its been done!" OR maybe im just a total freekin headcase.... :o

Why do a shirt that has the schematic of the equipment that you use. That’s like a car company giving you a schematic of a waterjet or laser cuter. (if they are used to make a car). Thinking you will buy more cars. Do a shirt with all the styles of prints you can do. Maybe a shirt with one design but have the design cut up into waterbase ink, plastisol and all matalics. I think that shirt if done right would show your skills.  Trust me I understand design. A great looking shirt can make sales. I am just saying make a great looking shirt that is also a sales tool. Just my cents...

It's funny that the forward shirt has a M&R manual on it when they use a MHM auto. How does that work?
