I always yak about 'poster art'.
Go and google it up you'll get a zillion different takes on the subject.
What I am usually referring to though, is not so much style, as mechanics, although lots of folks rock the style.
( perhaps I need a better term, but it works )
It's art that's viewable from a distance, and because of this, makes the viewer want to come closer and have another look.
It can be simple stuff, or super-awesome detailed, but still catches the eye at distance.
It can be achieved through line-weights, contrast, colors, composition...likely many more.
I'd say it pertains to all art, but especially to garment art, as it's always first viewed from a distance.
