$50 for a 17" roll!

We have been using this film as our secondary and have yet to find anything wrong with it even at our level (just too busy to do a through test).

Thanx Peter!!!

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

I saw it. Is it microjet, like fixxons?

If pricing continues to drop like this I might as well shut my doors. It's getting ridiculous. That price is well below my cost. It will work for them though and they will keep customers when the special ends and price returns to normal.

One note: there is nothing wrong with suppliers making a profit. As pricing drops, guys like me go out of business, there are less suppliers, then pricing goes up. Just my thoughts.

Sounds like you need to figure out how to get it cheaper.

FILM QUALITY VARIES GREATLY!!!!!

Yep.  A lot of private label WP film is "microjet", they often forget to remove it from somewhere on the packaging.  Fixxons is microjet and works for our set up so I wouldn't switch to another at any price unless it was similar or I would just be buying myself an hour of messing around with settings with the $14 I'm saving.

Mav graphics.  That's rough.  You should consider diversifying what you offer.  It would increase the volume of film sales and provide buffer.

I have seen discussions on this forum (and others) about starting a supply business and thing that always comes to my mind is how does the little guy compete when they can not buy the same or ship the same as the big guys...It has to be an "uphill" battle.....

I just bought Ulano Film 17X100 FOR $113.30. Darn I wish I would have sen that. Could've gotten 2 rolls for the price of one.

The same could be said for anyone starting any business really. Which is why we should all quit our jobs and just sell. But to who?

Their regular price is around $73, which is pretty much in line with the industry. This $50 price must be a loss leader. A friend just tried to buy 200 rolls and it showed not in stock.

Zoo, you are correct. I'm trying to diversify from my speciality of film. However, I still should be able to make money selling film.

Brad, I know when we spoke a while back, I mentioned a "buy back" program for used films. I have cases of the stuff here, old junk film but I hate to toss it out. Offer people a % off per pound of used film or whatever, then take the used film to a recycling plant and recoup some cash....I have NO idea if this is even possible, or a waste of time....just an idea....

start supplying ink for printers too, just another retailer I can weed out....
...keep doing what you're doing, you'll only get what you've got...

I bought 3 rolls of film the other day, 2-13" and 1-17" for $155 total.  So far it's really good, I mean really good.

Brad:  You are correct that this month special offer pricing of $50.00 per roll is a “One-Time” non-sustainable special offer.   You are also correct that the regular price for a roll of 17” x 100’ ImageStar film was $73.00, but I can confirm that the regular price will be right around $60.00 per roll after the March promotion is over.
