What do you use for cleaning ink
« on: February 07, 2013, 02:02:01 PM »
I am currently using a Crystal Clean service to fill my Safety Clean System. We use it to clean Ink off of our Squeegys, Floodbars, etc. what do other shops use for this. It is getting expensive these days.

At Xenon we have Plastiwash.  Pit in your sink and you are good to go.  Add an external filter like MK162 did and get 1 year out of one fill up.

i second plastiwash for palstisol.  Do me a favor and look at your terms of service with crystal clean or whatever, you are liable for your fluid even on their truck and in their facilities most times.

We use citra paste scrub the screen a bit with it then rinse down the drain. I have a basic trap with old mesh to catch any debris. Squeegees usually only get wiped with a rag if on their tough then a spritz if citra paste and pressure wash off.

Franmar's Green Again.  (it's basically a recycled bean-e-doo, smells like waste veg oil)

I keep spray bottles of various concentrations of Simple Green all over the shop.  Helps w. stubborn WB that likes to stain and sometimes is nice to spritz squeegees and cut the oily green again off.

And, for the gnarliest WB ink cleaning/screen opening tasks (rarely needed for textile inks) some TW Graphics S-032 cleaner.

I really want an all-in-wonder ink cleaner that I can run in a recirc tank and use in the booth as well.  Something that will get after plastisol and help reduce WB staining in.

Same as Inkman, got rid of the parts washer a while ago. To clean squeegees and flood bars between jobs its some WD-40 and a rag.
