I seen it this morning my heart did a flip when I seen the bird actually lift off with the kid, I figured I was going to see the kid in a tree somewhere phew thank god his diaper was full.

ive seen youtube videos of Mongolians using Golden Eagles to take down wolves, and other youtube videos of the eagles dragging goats off the cliff.  never thought i would see an eagle attempt to take a child...

We can see it was staged to where the eagle was a trained eagle to dive down and pick up objects. Notice, it was a stuffed Muppet doll. Looked real till you get the close up. Baby stroller, stuff sitting around for a pic nick (looks like it's on a golf course) with your child. :)


Makes for a shocker vid, but prob not likely they can fly off with a kid. Thats another example why someone mentioned they knock sheep off of the cliff. Thats the only way they can get them cuz they would eat them on the ground. Can't fly off with them.


Of course, I'm guessing they can't fly off with that kind of weight.

DANG. Strong and cunning.


Still tho, the are diving and knocking them off and at the most, once they get them (from a high cliff and carry them down, they are gliding from above (down to a lower location on a cliff to drop them off at the nest). So I can see them taking them that far down. They aren't actually "flying up" carrying them off" from the ground. Not enough lifting power on something that size, but still very big threat to a goat high up and could kill a child on the ground. Especially with two of them attacking.  That wolf or Kyoto could have probably killed the eagle if it had only been the one.

Dan look real close when the eagle first releases the kid, you can see the child rotate and extend an arm. I don't think it is staged. My opinion anyways. Somewhere in the world is video of staged dummies weighing an average human weight, condors I believe it was actually lifted some of those dummies in to the air.

Holy crap is right. I am surprised it attacked with the adults so close. The slow motion replay with the music is hilarious. Poor kid, but he now has the best story to tell the rest of his life and a video to prove it.

The statement by Centre NAD said: "The 'Golden Eagle Snatches Kid' video, uploaded to YouTube on the evening of December 18, was made by Normand Archambault, Loïc Mireault and Félix Marquis-Poulin, students at Centre NAD, in the production simulation workshop class of the Bachelors degree in 3D Animation and Digital Design.

"The video shows a royal eagle snatching a young kid while he plays under the watch of his dad. The eagle then drops the kid a few feet away.

"Both the eagle and the kid were created in 3D animation and integrated in to the film afterwards."

Very well done video. Goes to show that you can't believe anything you see. People still will, though.

Yes, there are eagles large enough to lift a baby, but they're not golden eagles. Harpy eagles from the jungle can do it.
