Explain situation, offer discount, cut your losses.

yeah Frog,

I gave 2 options...i'm sure you will think i'm crazy for one even suggesting one of them..

Bring back the sweatpants, I'll snip the little elastic at the bottom and it will open right up and give their money back on the sweatpants...

or

bring them back and redo them on the open bottom that they wanted...

When this happens to me I ask the customer "What do you think is fair."  Nine times out of ten the customer asks for less than I would have been willing to offer.  I say OK and I'm the hero with no fight.  If the customer asks for more than I want to give I say "I'm not sure that is fair for me." and I start to negotiate.
If it's so easy, you do it.

You are right, in that option 1 is over the top. Are these real babes or something? What's the rest of the story?

No, maybe they are more honest and you are sneakier than we think, and they will pick option 2, and you will snip and remove the elastic, and present them as new pants!

You get the Trump award for creative business thinking! ;D

btw, I once shortly worked for mechanics who removed a battery, spray painted it, and charged for a "reconditioned" unit!
For that matter, one shirt place that I worked at once printed a fleece top reversing front and back, and their solution was to remove and relocate the label!

well the coach is a babe...

but it is MY fault...if it was their fault I wouldn't give the option...since its MY fault I have to go over the top and please them..I do a lot of printing for the school here and really don't need it to get around that I messed up and didn't fix to what they wanted in the first place...

Wow frog...cut and sew the labels!

The fact that the sweats are wrong makes just about any demand they make, as the right one. Money back, reprint, deep discount, etc.
However, most people aren't jerks and will offer a a truly fair solution.

This, obviously, could be important, but let's not panic yet folks. Jason, any chance that something changed to cause dryer temp to drop like a draft from an open door or window?

If we get into this, we'll move it to the ink section. This could be a dilly.
