Poly threads in 80/20 Hoodies

So I posted a pic of the Ts from this job in another thread but have a look at these here hoodie prints.  There's like one freaking thread of poly in there that won't discharge it appears.  What's up with that?   

This print looked amazing on an AA hoodie that we used to strike off and did this business on the Tultex.  It's not the end of the world, the look was okay with the client, but was not intentional obviously. My theory is it's just some random junk that went into the fabric.  These are very affordable sweatshirts after all so maybe "best practices" are overlooked when sourcing or making the fabric.  Or maybe it something else.

Yep. Don't like discharge on Tultex for that reason. Cotton face bologna.
AA  discharge beautifully, being %100 cotton of course. Hanes PrintPro does
nice as well.

Totally. For dcharge I favor AA and their cotton blanks, Gildan 2000s (see their nifty dcharge chart with a grading system) and yeah, Hanes. Sun Apparel as well. Not Tultex. But in my opinion AAs discharge the best and their 50/50's take water base really well. Triblends too.

But Chris, from what I can see it looks like a great print. Client liked em', right? With some blanks there is only so much you can do.

Yes, client was fine with them.  I offered a discount on them if they changed their mind. 

I ignorantly assumed that the Tultex fleece would be fine since they reactive dye, whoops. 

AA fleece is the no brainer here but color selection on the pullover cotton hoodies is pretty weak and price keeps a lot of our custom print clients away from U.S.-made. I'll look at the Print Pro for budget fleece orders with discharge next time.

I love Gildan's fabric for discharge and the rating system is very helpful but prefer the 64000 with it's somewhat tighter knit. 

Independent has really done well with the little bit of discharge we ran on them fwiw.

That would be the go to brand over here. Run discharge on them all the time with good results.
