Pimp my exposure unit
« on: October 02, 2012, 08:02:13 PM »
Anyone out here ever tried to convert your existing exposure unit into something more powerful. Just wondering if it is possible with a bit of DIY to upgrade our MSP 3140 into a 3000W or even 6000W beast. What would be the best approach?

umm, avoid that. several reasons.  1 is power.  You would have to gut all the electronics and start over.  plus those bulbs give off a hell of a lot more heat, so get ready for more blowers.

it would be cheaper and easier to buy a new unit.

modified our 3140 into a CTS burning unit, that's all though

that's a straighforward mod.  I could do that on the amergraph when the time comes.

...thinking about modding that old black-light Atlas unit too... I don't think it will keep up with the CTS imager. ;D
