I have a logo that has a clipping mask inside the layers.  I go to flatten transparency, expand and then pathfinder merge. At that point the clipping mask disappears and the stuff that was blocked by it is now on top. How do I get around it?
Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

Ungroup....select the part that is in the clipping mask and lock it in place........hide the rest of the stuff..........unlock the locked item and remove clipping mask.........fill the part that was used as a clipping mask with the color and use it as a Crop tool in Pathfinder pallet (See attached, 4th one in the bottom row)..........show the rest of the hidden stuff..........done

thanx, I missed the file. In any case, it really did not need to be done, I just needed to learn how and this was a good case to learn on.

thanx again!
