I'm Back Bitches...

I have led a dual life for since 1996. I have been a partner in a family business (cafe) since 1978 with my brother. My Mom and Dad opened the cafe back in 1957 when I was two. We took over the daily operation of the hometown cafe shortly after my Dad died in 1975. I stepped in right after I graduated from college. I got involved in screen printing when I realized the potential for a tourist market in our area with  10 of thousands of visitors to the Little Sahara State Park, located near by. In 1996 I started screen printing my own stuff and opened a gift shop in our cafe.  It has been a daily grind every since.... Taking off the cafe hat and putting on a printer hat after work. My mom who was with us until about 10 years ago when she  was  physically unable to continue to work with us. Since then my relationship with my brother began to deteriorate. We had different visions of where the place needed to go. He was/is old school. I am a work smarter not harder type of person. It got to the point where we could not get along at all. It happens I guess, but herein lies a very valuable lesson learned. Never go into a situation where everything is not spelled out, especially when family is involved.

The last month and a half has been brutal for me. I had to handle all the negotiations and work out all the details of the sale. Yep that too was dumped in my lap. It is now pretty much a done deal and I am "Free at Last... Thank God All Mighty, FREE at last!"

My full time and attention can now be turned to what I truly enjoy doing. I look fore ward to spending some more time here until someone tells me to shut the F up.

Did a couple of jobs this week and I have been trying to get some other much neglected things in order. My wife and I have spent only a hand full of weekends together the past 30 years.
