Miami screen supply ink

I liked the street fighter ok but it wasn't opaque enough for me.  We added the qcm 159 to the SF and Snap with decent results, but the triangle worked better mixed with the qcm.  The SF and snap weren't quite opaque enough but I can see how it would be great in a lot of shops.  Bottom line is I'm beyond picky when it comes to white and it's starting to spill over into the spot colors which will not be a good thing.

Who has the cheapest 1 gallon buckets?  I know someone posted a place they get some cheap clear quart containers -- thanks by the way on that -- but what about gallon containers?  I don't like the 5 gallon bucket because we end up wasting so much that gets caked to the sides if we don't use it quick enough, and we've never broken it down to gallon size buckets.  So, like the quart containers, who sells cheap gallon containers to break the 5 gallon bucket down?

Gallon buckets get expensive, we save all our empty emulsion buckets clean them out and wallah nice new bucket!

How much are you guys paying for quart buckets?  I've been getting mine at Lowes in the paint department.  I think they are around 1.13 per and lids are seperate but very cheap as well.

RE Streetfighter for Robert et al:


At first coming from Quick it was a bit of a funky switch. You get used to how to print one
style of ink and then when you change inks and how to print it everyone has a grand old
freakout session. I know I did.

My only complaint about it is the tiny bit of gloss to the finish. I know I could suede it out but
when it comes to production/employees anything other than "take ink out of bucket put in screen"
causes yet another grand freak out.

I can deal with a tiny bit of gloss for less than half the price of Quick. (you're right on the price Andy,
though Tim is with Dynamic now...)

Sean, I was just talking to the dude at Tekmar, and the whole Screenp Pinting Products/Screen Printer's Resource/Dynamic thing came up.

I was lead to believe that Screenprinting Products Or at least our branch) was merely bought by Dynamic, and figured that they were now running the operation out of Hayward

how much would you want to save on a fiver to justify breaking it down into singles? With my SF, it's like $10 or less, so with the cost of buckets, and the time and potential mess involved, I'd just go with the singles.
It may vary greatly withy the different inks.

Frog I definitely agree with you if we were looking to stick with the Streetfighter -- I am just curious to know about the single gallon containers if we ended up trying a different white ink and got the 5 gallon container of that particular brand of white ink.  Ironically, up until recently, our supplier didn't stock single gallons of the SF LB (we may have even been told it doesn't come in the 1 gallon containers and only in the 5 -- don't recall with certainty though, just like most things these days), so in years past we had to get it 5 gallons at a time in the 5 gallon container.

Screen Printer's Resource. I see the low bleed listed here but not the cotton

Cracked open a gallon of the low bleed. I gotta say I was impressed. Nice and creamy out of the bucket. Printed nice and flat and bright, (PFP) thru a 156. I couldnt screw up printing it, nice mat down and the PFP didnt result in a super thick glob of ink. This is #1 in my book.

Yup, I love the ink. I got 4 galons from them last week, even with shipping cane out way cheaper than anyone else "locally".

I liked the MSS ink too, but with in not being P free (In cheaper version) I went back to Streetfighter. I hope they will keep it around for a while.
