Miami screen supply ink

I actually found the Miami ink to be stiff. Maybe it's just me, but I wasn't a huge fan of it. I've tried tons of different whites and Phoenix just kills everything else out there. Wilflex Epic Quick is my #2 white, but Phoenix has a little more opacity (puff maybe) to it.

I don't care about price, to an extent. Phoenix is good, and a little pricey, but eliminates so many problems and allows an easy one stroke print that we save (make) money by using it.

 that's interesting. one says creamy, one says stiff. i guess the only way to know if it works for your shop is to try it out. I had the same feeling about price, but when this one is getting this great of a review, it's almost impossible to ignore. I have found all of wilflex whites to be very stiff compared to phoenix. We used Buffalo for a while and that was amazing, until I tried Quick - but to me -they are all like cement compared to phoenix. and the cost was about the same. We only go through about a gallon of white every 2 weeks, not a ton of ink but enough to have significant savings IF - IF it prints as nice as advertised.

If you want a creamier version of the phoenix try their new Alpine white. Very creamy. I liked it alot but it's twice the price of Street Fighter so ill deal with the little bit thicker ink.

For those of you who have tried both superior and smooth, how do they contrast with regard to
(1) opacity, (2) creaminess and viscosity right out of the bucket, (3) short vs long body, and (4) flash time.

If the opacity is comparable and the flash time better, maybe smooth would be worth a shot.

This is smooth on a black Port & Co. shirt. One hit two strokes on a 123 surloc panel. No heavy hand.

We use the smooth and find it very creamy. We use it in the auto with no modifications. We liked the phoenix but found it just as creamy as the smooth but the smooth kills it in price. Why pay so much more for a product as good as creamy. We use this white now for everything.

Honestly I haven't seen the added flash time needed for the miami versus the other inks we've used recently.  Granted I'm no longer out there printing every day but trust me, if the ink wasn't as good as I think Carlos would let me know about it.  He's as picky as I am with white ink, a second longer in flash time would not fly with him, he'd be at my desk complaining every day.

The smooth is creamier and softer out of the bucket than the superior but I like the superior more because I think it has better opacity, just by a small margin.  It's longer bodied than the qcm whites, quick, bright tiger but not too long and stringy like the IC 711 can sometimes be.

I just ordered some white from Miami. A gallon of smooth and a gallon of superior. I've been wanted to try this for a while. Question for those who have used it; I asked if they were low bleed. They told me they are recommended for 100% cotton but some people have used them on 50/50. Any one on here try it on 50/50? I'm thinking if this ink is as good as advertised I will want to keep a white on hand for 50/50. Thoughts?

Also....anyone try any of their opaque colors? How do they print (without an underbase)? How about their regular colors? Do they print wet on wet nicely?

We had some bleed with red 50/50, I could see it but the customer could not, actually did a reorder. No other problems I can remember.

So far we have been using their colors with no issues including a few grey's, pinks, red, black, navy, orange, lt royal etc.

Good to hear. If it works on black, which is 75% of what we print, that would be awesome. I don't mind keeping an extra white on for 50/50's. But if I could reduce that to stubborn stuff like red 50/50's.... That would be great!

what is the product number? how are the flash times?

we have been using the Miami Non Phthalate superior white. very very very creamy, very opaque and awesome for under basing as well as highlighting through 230 mesh without a reducer.

Flash times aren't as fast as qcm 159 but I think it's as good or better than the rutland snap and street fighter.  If you were concerned about flash times, I'm sure you know this already, but I'll cut the white with some of that wilflex UB grey.  That grey flashes incredibly fast and works great when added to an underbasing white.  Not too much is needed either, still looks fairly white as well when we mix it.  I'd guess about 5% added to the white of your choice.

Cracks if it's not hitting at least 380 for 20 seconds in the dryer, and has a little bit of a paint thinner smell as its curing. they don't supply alot of info just PF for phthalate free. Don't get me wrong, it prints awesome, washes well. But more info on it's high cure temp requirements and what's actually in it would help. I can't get anyone to email me back from there. So we will probably move on to something else when ready. We had al ot of white in the house.

I'm glad you pointed out the higher cure temps for me before I started using it.

Like I said, I love printing with it. But when I have to see my crew re-running and order through the dryer because they aren't 100% sure of the cure, I get a little pissed. I know most shops around here could care less and would deliver, but you wouldn't believe how many times people have come to us to "re-cure" their order from another printer because they were under cured. I don't want to turn into that guy to save a few bucks on the cost of an ink. There must be a reducer added to it to make it so creamy, it's really nice on press, but that high cure temp and longer dwell is questionable to me. Quick white, which is what we switched from for this, flashed fast, cured up great 320 for 12 seconds you could stretch the crap out of it with no cracking, not with this, it needs the high temp and longer time, then it's nice and solid. Alan has a monster dryer so it probably doesn't affect him on that end.
