Storage space
« on: June 23, 2012, 03:09:02 PM »
So... Landlord had said I could put a Connex Box (freight container) on the side of the building (it would be opposite side from main road) but then we find out his property stops about 5' from his building... so I can't put it there.

I ask about behind the building and I am told he doesn't want anything visible from the main road.

SO... previous tenants used to have a beat up cargo trailer they used for work that was ALWAYS parked in the parking lot (blocking view of my business from the main road).  Now, I'm thinking maybe I should just get a 6x10 or maybe even bigger cargo trailer with a ramp and park that puppy out in the parking lot.  I could slap some advertising on it and have a pretty nice sized billboard out there as well.

It wouldn't provide as much room as a 20' connex box, nor would it be as "secure" but I'm certain I can chain that puppy to an 8" post that is part of the main marque sign and wouldn't have to worry too much.  Besides I'd be storing mostly "junk" and maybe some blanks if/when I get larger jobs to print.

What do you guys think?  Any other ideas?

Why store junk, just throw it away.

What is junk to one person isn't junk to another.

Example... I doubt anyone would be all that interested in a box of 100 USB cables... but, I use them all the time.  Same for a hand full of CRT monitors... but I can package them together with "refurbished" computer systems to sell for fairly cheap.  I get them for free... if anyone stole them (and I doubt they would), I wouldn't really care that much.
