Corel X6 released

Heads up for Corel's new (and definitely NOT improved) upgrade policy
They do have a grace period in effect but when that expires, Corel will no longer be upgradable from ANY old version
Along the lines of Adobe products, upgrade pricing will only be available with one of the 2 previous versions (ie. X4 or X5)
Something to think about if you're still working in versions X3 or lower

We will be patient with this 5 version we have. Still digesting 5 with all the plugins we use. Just did our first quickbooks integration with fastmanager, and still don't have the premier version unlocked. Gave us bad directions and had to start a service tag. aarrgghh. lite version worked good and we finally got it configured and in daily use.
MMM... upgrades. yummy. NOT!

They're giving you a 90 day grace period to upgrade at 'upgrade pricing' from absolutely ANY previous version
With X4, it doesn't matter
You can upgrade at the upgrade price whenever you want.......well, whenever you want before X7 gets released! lol

Though some would argue that I'm an odd sort of guy, with Corel. it's the evens I go for.
I'll let you guys sort this one out for a while, then I'll upgrade from X4.
Will X6 still run on older XP machines? I haven't read any of the specs.

X6 will work on Windows XP yet only the 32 bit version I believe. One of the good things about X6 is it comes with both 32 and 64 bit versions.
To see a list of some of the new features you can check out Fosters blog

Only thing I hope for on the new version is some serious fixes under the hood, X5 has been nothing but a nightmare from day one and has almost had me to wanting to jump ship to Illy!

O.K. it seems KORRAL added nice features to the software
now, when would be the best time to update corel
some people suggest wait at least 3 months
in case they need to fix a glitch or something

I have X6 and while it has some nice bells and whistles, it crashes too often for my liking.....I do not plan on switching from CS5 anytime soon but would like to get somewhat fluent in it for the few clients I have that still use it....
