New Dip Tank

My CCI guy just dropped off my new dip tank. Pretty good deal I think. Will hold 6 or 7 23x31s came with 3 gallons of their new dip n strip for $250. Has a drain spout, a bottom catch pan and a lid. I will report back the chemical performance whenever I get a chance to set this up.

Damn that is a great price for that tank, especially one big enough for 6 full size screens.  I might have to look into getting one of those bad boys.  Thanks for posting Gerry.

Why are you guys interested in holding 6-7 screens in a dip tank? if it takes 2-3 minutes(heck maybe 4-5 for pure diazo emulsion) in the dip tank, why would there be a need for any more than 2-3?

Great point.  I only put about 4 in max at a time in our big blackline tank.  I guess it doesn't hurt to have extra room and extra solution in there though.  I'm more concerned with having tanks that can fit the biggest screen sizes possible so I don't have to buy new ones as we purchase larger screens down the line.

My current easiway tank only holds 2 manual sized frames. Since I got the auto I had to get one that held them so this was a no brainer. I probably would only put 4 at a time in myself.

But if you put only 3-4 in a tank that is made to 6-7 screens you will probably end up having to use more solution in the tank. Still a fantastic deal

Our screens almost always spend more than a few minutes in the tank.  My guy (that we are replacing this week) moves about as fast as a sloth.  He's one of the slowest moving land mammals on earth right now and I thought about calling Guinness Book and getting them out here to check him out.  Our's holds 5 23x31 screens and we always have it full it seems even though we don't need it to be.  The longer the screens are in there, up to a point, the easier they are to clean.  I haven't found the chemical to be too hard on the mesh if they are left in the tank for 15-30 minutes.  We use Easiway Supra, great stuff.

I accidentally left a couple screens in for a couple hours. Those were really easy to wash out! Lol.

CCI inks any good? I used some of thier emulsion awhile back (forget which one) but it wouldnt reclaim worth a damn and left spots of locked in emulsion in the mesh.

I know Sean (ebscreen) uses some CCI inks but I havent tried them.

we only let the screens in the tank for 1 min.
when the chemical solution is new then add another minute as the solution get weaker

ALAN, would his leg drag if he hits a crack in the floor? man, i had my brother inlaw working and he IS the slowest human. your guy could be a close second..
