I don't know if I'm mildly impressed or amused, maybe a little of both.

I didn't get it to actually light, but it does burn. When you're a kid, anything goes in the microwave. I guess people do dry small wood pieces in the microwave. I burnt the crap out of a spoon when I was younger.

You guys ever seen someone try to cure a shirt in a microwave? Heard of it, but never got to witness the entertainment. (FYI, reports were it does NOT work well
)

gotta give the guy credit for using what he had. its better than curing with a flash.and i would think with the right insulation and the coil heaters its probably safer than it appears.just sayin..

Redneck engineering at it's finest. What do you want to bet that before he meets his maker his last words will be "Hold my bear Billy Bob, you ain't gonna believe this right here!"?

with the right insulation, it probably would be, but even small leaks in that insulation will almost pinpoint that heat onto a single spot on the wood casing.
Not to mention, lint from shirts can build up in really bad places and cause fires as well.
All I am saying is it looks nice, but I sure as crap wouldn't use it. Go to the HVAC supply company, you can get cheap metal panels that are fairly easy to bend into shape for ductwork. And guess what, the only metal I have seen burn is magnesium, and I am pretty sure they don't use that for ductwork.

If I recall correctly, someone on the old board had a fire start just from the heat drying out the wood floor underneath their
dryer.

plywood in itself is a great insulator, when plywood is made at the factory
they use a heat press using pressure between 20 to 30 psi per inch
and to 200 to 250 degress to speed up the cure process
i`m not worry about the plywood box going up in flames
my concern would be the belt would be able to withstand the temperature in the long run
since it comes in direct contact with the heat
just my 2
