UPS Mail
« on: May 06, 2011, 05:48:19 PM »
This is a new one to me.

Recently ordered a v-belt for a ride on mower. Some company in
CT. Shipped via USPS.

Checked the tracking number, and noticed that there was mention of UPS.

The USPS is using UPS hubs, sorting and transportation for it's small packages
apparently. Final delivery by the mail man of course.

Odd thing is, UPS moved a small package for Priority mail prices and Priority
mail delivery time. It would have cost more and taken longer to use their
own shipping service.

I don't get it.

I ordered some stuff from Gap and it starts off as FedEx then transfers to US Mail. The service is called something but I can't think of the name.

I don't understand these "partnerships" either, but am noticing them more and more.
It screws up tracking as well.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

UPS mail innovations and fedex smart post and I HATE THEM! you could live in TN, order something from OH which if they shipped it regular priority you'd have in 1-3 days.  With Mail Innovations, it goes all the way to some state that isn't even on the way, then takes about 7-10 days to get here....i flippin hate these shipping methods. Sorry for the rant, but im just a big online orderer and its becoming more common to get stuck with these services.

I don't get it either. Regular snail mail is faster. I'm guessing that the shipper must receive a huge discount.
