Heat pressed numbers....

Maybe not in right topic, but did not know where to put it.

Ok at the moment i use transfer express screen printed heat pressed numbers.. I'm not fond of them when on 100%poly garments..Its the heat..LOL

What do you guys use (the one'e that don't cut their own with vinyl) and could you maybe send me links to exactly what it is...I'm having trouble understanding it all...

I most often use the die-cut Thermo Film from Stahls. Up to now, I have never had a problem with dye migration or too much heat for the garment with poly.

Interestingly, when bought by the pack, these are cheaper than cutting your own.

the reason being is the numbers are stamped in bulk, this is why the edges get stuck together.  Rather than cut 1 by 1.  There is no backing material, so you aren't paying for that either.

I hate cutting my own numbers.  I'd rather order the packs and be done.

Interestingly, when bought by the pack, these are cheaper than cutting your own.

This is the best option I've found as well.  When priced, including shipping, you should be able to get your numbers from Stahls for about .24 per number.  We only cut our numbers if I've ran out of a specific number and I need it in a pinch.

I just saw that someone had maybe vinyl numbers and they looked alot better then the ones I use...Maybe I'll watch the heat more closely....

I use the stahls a lot , die cut thermofilm without any problems.  I sell to marketing companies and offer them white and black numbers in stock at all times. Colours are charged out higher and I really push the team packs.  Intrestingly 90% of my orders are B&W. I really couldn't see the value in printing numbers and the time involved cleaning screens for colour changes , the videos I have seen don't look that  quick, Ironing usually takes less than a minute a shirt and then your done no cleanup.  also those machines take up alot of space.

I was told years ago that they were cut with a CNC water jet...even on the twill...how it cuts and does not make anything wet...was explained by how fast the water jet was traveling.

I use Thermo Film too. I used to print numbers before I got a heat press and I still print them if someone wants a color I don't have and the job is a rush...Or if someone wants something cute like 1/2 or 420 for their number (I've actually done both of those...)

Try thermo-grip, it's a lot better for pesky fabrics and I find hold better to cotton as well.  It's better than stocking both in most cases.

i use stahls as well but i used the prespaced if they want the names and numbers it makes it so much faster.

transfer express IMO are the best.  They are actually screen printed, so they will match the front.  And a 2 color is like .33 cents.

make sure you preheat the bottom of the press, preheat the garment and press for 3-4 sec longer than specified on the paper. We've had no problems with them on poly when done correctly.
