Hep Me! Yes I said Hep. My Javelin quit indexing.
« on: February 11, 2012, 02:55:56 PM »
Not sure what happened. We stopped in the middle of a run to go eat and came back and it won't index. I can run it in manual on a single stroke but that is it. So the table comes up on manual but in auto I get no indexing. I was able to manually push it to index but it looks as if the index fork is never getting actuated. I guess it could be a valve gone out.

I doubt it is the valve.  It's probably the actuator.  What tells the valve to open and close.  I had the same problem with the indexer on my Gauntlet.  It was slowing way down and finally crapped out.

Check that first.

Each valve should have a manual bypass button on the valve itself, usually in the center of the coil. Take a small screw diver and depress the manual bypass for the index fork. See if the fork moves. Then you can do the same with the indexed but be sure you are clear of anything that moves so it doesn't hit you. If the fork and indexer works try to run the machine, if it does it may have just been a stuck valve. If not it will most likely be an electrical problem like a bad or misaligned prox, loose wire, relay, etc.

Sent an email to Phil at Workhorse (today ... Saturday). He called me within 30 minutes. Had me trigger the index snap action switch several times. I had already done it a couple but I did it again probably 15 or 20 times. Turned it on and it worked. He said the switches get dirty and stick. So it is working again but I am going to buy a couple of those switches and keep them in the parts box.

Way to go Phil/Workhorse!
