Desktop DTF
« on: February 21, 2025, 11:09:42 AM »
Anyone here running a small desktop dtf printer? I have no want to bring it in house as it's just too easy to order from the hundreds of online suppliers. But I could use something for emergencies. AKA me pressing a shirt upside down today when it's due! Ha. We usually order extra of everything we do, but there are times when things come up.

Like any printer, I know they need to be maintained, but wasn't sure if anyone had a decent experience with one at all that was OK. Doesnt need to be top of the line. I hate dtf as is and try to do as little of it as possible. But in reality, it's part of the business now.

my experience, desktops are just good enough to get you used to having in house and then they die. I have a stack of them waiting for a sunny day and some Tannerite. They are not made for production outside of "CriKet Karen's" rip off items for Facebook marketplace... I have a 24" Mutoh 628 w/ bulk ink tanks - free- if you want it. Needs a print head.
...keep doing what you're doing, you'll only get what you've got...

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!
