Garden Hose Guns
« on: February 03, 2025, 12:39:56 PM »
Does anyone have a model they like, or at least lasts awhile? We've gone through them all it seems,
I used to buy whatever was the most expensive, but in the end we're replacing every couple three months anyways,
the kids tell me to just buy a dozen of the cheapest haha.

im looking for good ones too - my next one im trying is a Gilmour 5 Pattern Adjustable Multi-Pattern Metal Hose Nozzle, part number on zoro.com = G2908260

my last one was similar and it lasted maybe a year?

i chose the thumb style so there isnt a trigger to malfunction.

i like the gilmour brand - so far they last a bit longer, but dont go for the ones with swivel connect - ours lasted a week - good in theory but didnt hold up to daily degreasing task.

We went through those ones. They are good at first, team likes the different spray options, but the spray selector front doesn't withstand the
rigors of a screen room. Our booths are stainless which may have something to do with it, people typically aren't gentle with the hose when hey are done with it.

Glad I'm not the only person concerned about these haha.

Pistol style: Dramm 12743 (traditional squeeze trigger)
Multi-spray style: Dramm 14503 (lever action, stays open)

I buy the cheap ones at Wal-Mart buy two and they last maybe a year before water is spraying from everywhere, there're all about the same no matter the price I think.

I'll give those a whirl, I don't recall trying that brand. I did get some super fancy German model
that was on the shelf at the local Grainger. It wasn't great.

That's what I'm ending up at. The German one I mentioned above was like $60 and whoop-de-doo.

Been using the Dramm ones for years in the shop and at home. The "industrial" ones stand up to some decent abuse in the shop. (stainless washout sinks, 8 hour shifts) The lever action ones are nice, reduces fatigue cause you just turn it on and go without having to squeeze the trigger.

I think we use the dramm lever ones.  It's hard to tell because it's been back there for about 8 years now.  Completely caked with old emulsion.

It's the selector nozzle with the lever on the back.  It took some getting used to to switch from a trigger, but it's worked great.

Found it:

I bought it in 2016.
