Maybe old trump needs to win so you can really get a full eye view of what he is about, but it might be to late to turn back, or you can vote for Kamala take what she gives for 4 years and vote her out, got a gut feeling she want tear the country apart, one way or the other we all are going to get what we get.

Let me add to my statement, so many of us got Monday morning quarterback answers, we always know this or know that should have been this way or that way, maybe us with all the answer's need to run for elected office and see how well the country can be under our leadership  ;D

Empathy goes a long way.  A lot of people today don't understand how Trump could have been elected, but when 70% of the country feels we are on the wrong track, it was an upward hill for Kamala.

Understanding how over half the electorate feels abandoned or unheard gives you insight into how he won.  In the end, Trump's victory was carried by minorities, men, and people making less than $50k a year.

And, in 4 years, if his ideas don't work, we get to do this all over again and change course.

The sun will still rise and set, life goes on.  It's not worth destroying relationships over.

Our candidates are a reflection of the citizens. Garbage in, garbage out. This is the best we have to offer. Personally, I think we should all stop voting and paying taxes, but good luck getting 300+ million on board for that lol.

My wife and I were polar opposite on the candidates. We NEVER discussed politics at home. If it came up at family gatherings, I'd simply find a different place to drink, alone if I had to. I won't let my political views affect my friendships. I can hate the way you think, but call you my brother for who you've always been. Period

My prayers to any folks with pre-existing medical conditions. The future of the ACA is precarious and health insurance for many could be unavailable. I'm going to guess that many hospitals will struggle to stay afloat too.

I think until Citizens United is overturned we have no chance of having a voice anymore.  People think they are having a voice with how things just went but in reality it's special interests, the wealthiest people in the US that will benefit, not the average Americans.  I feel like disinformation won.  I was mostly conservative but that is not what that party is anymore.  If people really chose on merit and with ideals, policies in mind I have no issue with that and get along with everyone.  I do not feel like that's how this went at all.

Good luck to everyone, it's going to be a wild ride for sure.  Hopefully ACA isn't gutted / the policies in the forward written by the VP aren't implemented.  I see prices surging if they are and those tariffs go into effect.

This is the exact type stuff that got him shot at.  When you make people afraid, they lack the ability to think rationally. Either side dooming and glooming over results isn't productive.  Constantly calling someone a threat to democracy, a fascist, Hitler, etc. is othering a large chunk of the population with a goal of dehumanizing people.  because nobody really cares if a Nazi is murdered, right?

And in 4 years, when Trump leaves office, nobody goes back and says they were wrong. The media simply moves onto name calling the next nominee.

the election is over, the midterms will probably flip the senate and/or house back to dem control.

Nobody would say stuff like that about him if he didn't bring that crap up, no one made up that stuff, this man is a number ONE chit talker and people just keep giving him a pass ( Oh it's just Trump) but hey if he shut's his mouth and do the work he say he is going to do it might be a good 4 year's, but something telling me this man is thinking long term on never leaving office, hope I'm wrong!!!!

You really extrapolated a LOT out of my small sentence. You ok?

But to your point here, yes, this is correct. Nobody with a heart or brain should care if an actual Nazi is killed.

The country was heated for sure. On both sides. At times, equally ridiculous things were said. There were a lot highs and lows during this election. Win or lose, I for one am sooo glad it's over.  It is to, these crazy weird things that people question. Again, (on both sides this happens) but look at the things he was saying after he won and went on stage. Giving accolades about is wife's mother who had passed away. When she passed away, I don't know but was that the time?  Then onto someone else who is good at golf. Passing around odd accolades to people on stage that wasn't anything about the election at hand.  Just odd. BUt anyway. It's over.    Right?   LOL.
