The Long Beach Imprinted Sportswear Show will be the stage where Hirsch debuts its new Tajima Sumo large-format embroidery machine, designed to easily do oversize designs on jackets backs, blankets, banners and more.

As part of the Sumo launch, Byambajav Ulambayar, a three-time world champion sumo wrestler will be on hand to sign autographs and take photos. He will be in the Hirsch booth 1011 and walking the floor all day on Friday and Saturday to meet with attendees.

Known as Byamba, the professional wrestler won two consecutive World Sumo Champion titles (2006 in Japan and 2007 in Thailand). In 2009, when the World Sumo Championships were not held, Byamba competed in the World Games, which is held every four years and run by the International Olympic Committee. At the competition in Taiwan, Byamba thrilled the crowds by winning the gold medal – his third World title!

Byamba continues to win tournament after tournament. At one point, he had a streak of more than 100 consecutive victories in matches mostly against national champions of other nations.

Based in Los Angeles, Byamba also had a part in the movie “Oceans 13,” as well as more than 120 TV shows, films, commercials, and live events all over the world.

Just like Byamba, the Sumo can make you a champion with your customers. It uses a 23-inch by 23-inch hoop that makes it possible to not only sew on oversized jackets, jerseys and fleece with giant designs or appliqué, but it also opens the door to home decorations such as tablecloths, table runners, curtains, bedspreads and more. Large tote bags and luggage, banners, blankets, and wall hangings are just a few of the many product categories that this machine is designed to accommodate. Embroiderers will find they can do large pieces quickly and efficiently allowing them to solicit work that previously would have been a production nightmare.

Don’t miss a chance to shake hands with a sumo champion and see the latest technology in embroidery machines, the Tajima Sumo.
