Ovaljet + Adelco combo on an oval press
« on: February 26, 2021, 06:14:38 PM »
Anyone else see this yet? I've known of Adelco for awhile regarding their dryers and now presses but they have partnered with Ovaljet it seems. To be honest I haven't seen any news from Ovaljet in awhile so maybe this is what they were working on. It seems all the manufacturers are headed this way. The landscape is going to be very different in 5 to 7 years...

isn't adelco just a distributor in the UK? doesn't ovaljet sell through Hirsch over here?

Aldelco makes their own presses and dryers. When MHM was with Hirsch in the US they usually sold their presses with Adelco dryers. That all changed and now it seems Adelco has entered the Hybrid Auto Market. The HAM.

I'm more of a Beef guy myself, but I actually had a call with someone in Portland area that is running an ovaljet this week, and am meeting with them next week just to talk, and then go to check out the Oval Jet at a later date.

He is making it sound like they are on the cusp of being able to produce high quality prints almost indistinguishable from screen prints on the Oval Jet.

However I have also gotten a shirt from Dream Junction that I put in the garbage, but he is saying that it is due to RIP / PrePress stuff and that they are dialing in that process.

I just don't see it happening, POD is low quality product sent to a bunch of people, it's nowhere ready for prime time.  It fills a niche but I think we are years away from that and screen print is king for quality.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but not as a business owner (which I am not) to have to invest in the 500k + equipment that may be obsoleted in 2 years or is 80k to replace a print head.

I'll report back, but I'm excited to see one in person, and to have access to one so to home.

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

But there are around 40, 50, or maybe 60 of the DS in the field of North America. Those are working. Heck I send work that way sometimes. Very very good quality. I'm curious to know of which brand you are mentioning
