Suggestions for Dusty Rose Pantone C
« on: December 22, 2020, 10:23:34 AM »
Anyone have an idea of a regular Pantone C color that would be considered Dusty Rose?
Pantone's official one is 17-1718 TCX

Copied the image of the Pantone swatch, opened AI, made a square, eye dropped said image, edit>edit colors>recolor artwork>match Pantone Solid Coated.

Came out to 5005C

Thanks folks. This is all very enlightening. My closest CorelDRAWX6 match was between 687C and 688C.
Farmboy has 2447C. Guy who'll probably do the actual printing on these has his Photoshop seeing it as 500C, and apparently Illy is a tad different at 5005C.
This particular client is more than flexible and has an understanding of issues like this. Thank heavens for custies like that, eh?

Using the Hex number from Pantone's sight, I also get PMS 500, but it's a shade lighter than the hex number's color.

I also think that obviously "Dusty Rose" is not an official universal designation. I think that one man's "Dusty Rose", might be another frog's "Dirty Pinkish Lilac".
