Spots in ink

Any idea what would cause this, customer brought this to me but wants a better job ( not my print)
Looks like dye migration but only in spots throughout design. Especially in R
My ideas
- buildup on platens making thin spots in ink?
- bad dye job on fabric?

Has anyone seen this before,  I’m going to sample it tomorrow with Rutland LB white and roller

The only time I've seen something similar is when I assumed there were some oil stains on the tees before they got to us from the factory. Didn't see it a lot, but it cna hapen to where it affects the chemical bonding under the surface. Could be washing away where it's closest to the shirt under the top where you see it.

Other imperfections in the print that can show up as darker, is when there is another color before this white, catching and building up on some tape on a platens (a clump of something). Glue or whatever. This should not be the case for white ink only.

I'd need to examine this up close and personal, but I've seen similar spots from lint balls on the platen (if they repeat on that platen), or just on the shirt if only every now and then.

There also telling me they showed after a few days, I’ve seen dye migration but never so pin pointed it’s happening on black and dark heather hoodies the most so not just one dye lot? I believe the fleece is fro India

This has happened to us as well a glued up lint ball or something you can see in the print because the ink is thin , if we see we will print whatever it needs to cover the spot then remove after the shirt is off.

I agree with Frog - lint balls and not a clean platen. whenever we do poly shirts and didnt change the paper this would happen. Def with white ink.

Well, if it didn't have the marks right after printing, I would lean towards bleed.  I have seen bleeding like that on a few garments (totes come to mind too).

so printed sample this morning 123 fine mesh/ spot/roller white 156 and looked really good , smooth and white . Going to hold on to it for a couple of days and see if anything appears?

Yea that should work for checking for bleed.  Perhaps the fuzz on platens made for smaller ink deposit in those spots and it bled afterwords without realizing right away.

I did ask if there was repeated on multiple shirts but they didn't know, may have been drop shipped from printer?
