A slightly different apostrophe question
« on: June 24, 2020, 04:08:10 PM »
There are many discussions about the proper use of an apostrophe, but in this case, we're stacking letters vertically. CHE'S... would you put the apostrophe after the E or before the S? I think after the E looks better, but I thought I'd ask anyway, personal growth and all...

Here's both, I still prefer the apostrophe following the E...

Maybe I'm different, but I like the classiness of the apostrophe to the upper left of the S.... makes it more of CHE'S instead of CH'ES.  I'd put a partial line (or dashed line) above the S / below the E as a slight separator to distinguish CHE as the name, then put the 'S below the line to show ownership.

or, I would change the apostrophe to an upside down bottle of beer/wine before the S and that would settle the whole design issue :-)

and the customer says, no box around LIQUORS and no apostrophe, in other words, just the way it was sent it originally. But hey, we brought it up and got an answer, so no longer a problem. Thanks all

Yeah, I know, lots of people are inconsistent I've found. Good guy though, he'll $500 plus a few times a year, easy to deal with. He has made the decision to go sans apostrophe.
