White Discharge

Ok, still not sure if this is considered normal or not.
We have been 99% waterbased for several months after 9 years of plastisol.
All matsui products. We have a lot of their standard and discharge bases. Everything else besides white prints as expected.

Today's print was on the auto:
Brite Super 75 White.
6% quick additive that has Softener, Retarder, and Fixer
5% activator
5% water
For today's test we dissolved as best we could into the 5% water, then added to the base (+ quick additive that was already combined before water)
Printing started about 15 minutes later.
Tried 110/80 standard & 150/48 S Mesh.
Hot metal platens
1/16th OC
Tried Triple 70/90/70 duro squeegee
Also tried 80 duro
Triple makes it brighter but still doesn't penetrate to weave valleys.
Heavy pressure.
Shirt was Gildan 5000 in black, also tried a few tultex 202 in black with similar results

It goes back to 2nd picture after releasing.

Ink consistency is still similar to whipped cream. Not concrete-thick but not as runny as normal mixed colors.
All non-white colors using any of the matsui bases penetrate and don't split on the valleys of the weave.

I see instagram videos of white discharge that almost looks like straight base and looks pretty bright even before dryer.
A few months ago we tried CCI D-White without any modifications and it was extremely thick and didn't penetrate (now know it needed to be modified).
We have also been jumping back and forth between Super 75 and regular Brite Discharge White. Modifed Brite white several ways but similar results to attached image.
We have done a 50/50 mix of brite white & brite base but not bright enough. Also tried 75/25 mix.

I believe the issue is the thickness of the ink but how do you base it down without completely dulling the white?
What am I missing here?

Tried 5-7 which is nearly vertical, but we usually print at 15. ROQ angles.

Try 25 on the Roq and full speed stroke.

Post a picture of the inside of the shirt.

More pressure and double stroke.

Gotta saturate that shirt, and cure it for a long time.

I can post a pic tomorrow but you can see the image on the inside. It is double stroked. More pressure and something might break

ok, trying this for a 3rd time since my posts keep not uploading.

We run Super 75 all the time. 157/48 hidro. Usually using a 60/70/60 squeegee. .5-.8mm pressure, thin flood, straight angle. If you can find a smiling jack squeegee that might even work better. just depends on the detail.

Also, from your pictures, it seems pretty normal as to how a DC print should look. it should follow the form of the fabric.

Thanks, so if you pull slightly on that print your White continues down into the weave? Or does it look like my pulled-apart image  where it’s only printing on the highest(?) part of the cotton?

There are penetrants, lubricants, and retarders that. when used sparingly, often help.
