M&R Servo Amplifier AL 52 error
« on: October 22, 2019, 09:45:26 AM »
OK guys is this the one where I need a new amplifier?  I can't get through to M&R this morning at all.

The press is a 2016 EXG if that helps.

Everybody is in Dallas for Printing United, going to take a while to get a call back.  Keep trying.

did you turn off, wait and turn back on?

sometimes voltage drops and the servo amplifier will get an error.

Yah I did all of that.

I got a hold of a tech and I'm going through it now.

I think you may just need a new battery Get one ordered. Leave power on machine until you get the new one. Of course I'm probably wrong.

I think it's the amplifier but who knows.  Still diagnosing it.  I don't even have a million prints on this damn thing so my guess is something electrical failed.

Problem solved.  Dave you were right it was the Servo Amplifier Battery.  Plugged the new one in had to reestablish the home position and then play with the servo offsets.

Back up and running smooth thank god.

Check online, you can get most of those batteries for around $20 online.

You'd think they could design a machine that didn't use batteries to hold the memory.

Regarding the battery issue try this.

On you calendar 1 year from today put a task to replace battery paks in your presses.

At that time, not now, go to a Batteries Plus or similar service provider and have them rebuild the battery pak according to spec.

Now that you have a spare this will work and your batteries should always be fresh.

REMEMBER never shut the poser off when the battery is not attached.

My 2 cents
