Isn't it just a matter of getting it sepped for simulated process with the given number of colors you can accommodate?
What say the sep pros?
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

I'm thinking it's not going to be more than 100 shirts.  Might want to send it out for DTG or screen print sim process.

at 5 colors, you want to do primary colors.

Base white,
Yellow,
Red,
Blue,
Black
Top white

How you get to that to look great in 5 colors is the trick.  We have an 18 clr press and then a 6 clr.  We try to stick most of the stuff on the 6 clr press and we've been getting some surprisingly good print out of 5 colors on dark garments with no sep revisions.  Fingers crossed for future jobs. :)

What Dan says, this is what I'd do. Did you say you have UltraSeps or the earlier QuickSeps? In the later versions there is an auto 5 color, which uses red, yellow, blue. black and the 2 whites. I've used it more than once for those who don't want to spend that much, and with some tweaking, are pretty darn good.

Price it right, farm it out, or walk away

And what Tony says, think about your art time, setup time, you know the rest. If you farm it out, you can do something else in that time frame. Good luck guy.

Agreed!  I will print an 8 color sim process on 72 pieces as long as they are willing to come off of the pocket book.
It's not a job if you love doing it.

Often overlooked. What about misprints and off quality garments when it is an exact shipment? That can be a margin killer no matter what.
best to all tp

I disagree with sending it out -how else will you learn?....grab that sucker by the balls and do it.....I've spent hours and wasted thousands on misprints, but I learned on everyone of them...to each their own I suppose..
...keep doing what you're doing, you'll only get what you've got...
