Illustrator Variable Data for names and numbers on uniforms

I was wondering if using variable data from an excel sheet would speed up the process for making my cut files for names and numbers in Illy? Has anyone tried it?

I typed it out & it gave me an Internal Server Error. I tried copying & pasting, then tried re-typing what was in the pic & anytime I tried to post it it gave me that error. But anything else I typed went through. Weird.
