Any tips of keeping your ink area organized?

Im looking for some examples to keep our inks that have been mixed / used, and now being stored, and what you do to keep it organized?

When I moved into my current area, I had a big rack 6'x9'x3' deep.

The problem now is we have so many ink cups just stacking up, and in the way, 3' deep in the shelve.

What are you guys doing to keep organized?

I have about 12' in length to work with.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

We use these for quarts. It’s 32 feet in the picture and another 16 foot section on the other side.

This the best way to do it when possible. Organize by pantone numbers with formulas on the containers. Makes it easy for production people to find and make colors as necessary. Also make note of how the containers are clean on the shelves...….might be a minor consideration for some, however a very good practice in order to stay better prepared

It allows you to switch out squeegee material with no bolts/screws etc. Its an ingenious piece of simple engineering. Not for everyone...…...depends on usage an needs. That said I do not see these units up for sale anywhere as used.

Hey Tony - I think he is talking about the Graco 1:1 pump sitting in the bucket behind the squeegee clamp.

Sorry my bad but Graco pumps are the best IMO. You can often get a good deal on these from ink suppliers. Best for white and base. Pneumatic so be sure to have proper air requirements

They are mostly used for drums 30 gal or more. Setbacks? Yes, when you get towards the bottom a good deal of air will pump  out. Try removing the lid and stir with a canoe paddle

Yes most people use these pumps when purchasing in drums to pump down into one gal pails to take to press. Does a great job pre-shearing the ink as well eliminating the need to stir.

As Tony stated, there will alway be ink left. Fiber drums make it easier to scrape the balance of the ink out.
