Staticman struck again
« on: October 04, 2018, 10:32:20 PM »
My best guy got an issue printing with poly white on 100% poly garments. The ink is just flying everywhere. All he does is pull the squeegee and then move it back to the end of the screen. There must be some issue with static as little streaks of white ink come flying of the squeegee blade. There is ink on his arms at the bottom of the garment, you name it.

Does not happen to anyone else here. Not sure what to do with him. Can`t spray him with anti-static spray each time he prints on dry fit tees.

Have him try a different pair of shoes. If his current shoes are wore out flat on the bottom it could promote more static buildup.

Is this a real thing or sarcasm because he's just that messy?

Because I have one of the latter in my shop.  I often make the joke that if, while talking to her, I turn my attention away for a split second I'll look back and she'll have more ink on her face.

I do a lot of flat work and with vinyl and believe me, it is a real thing. In winter little strings
of vinyl ink go flying everywhere. That static mat looks great.

They had a company at SGIA that had a string. you put it near your workspace and pass your vinyl over it and poof, static was gone.

It was quite magical looking!

Oh no it`s real. My printer is Mr. Neat. Having the static issues is very frustrating for him.

I've been shocked on the nipple and right on the head of Big Al.  Not fun.
