Those of you out there running m/r equipment using the no shirt detector vs just a foot petal

That may depend on how many empty boards you print your current way.  :o LOL!
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

For me I NEVER miss a pallet even with both eyes closed and a sore foot. I'm asking the rest of you Guru's. :)

Almost everyone has heard the sound of a screen lifting off of a glued pallet at some point! Cringe-worthy to say the least.

Your saying..running at 600pcs an hour you've never found a folded over shirt and needed and a sec to unfold it and bitch at whomever counted in the order?

Shiiit.. I use it to just stretch my back back out.

NECESSITY.
I spend too much money on equipment...

Rick, I love it. but if you don't keep it clean it will not work. Are you added to a machine or paying a new press. if you are buying new tell M&R to give you one.

I like it, but if you are a veteran, its not really necessary.  I have one press with it and one without it.  Just hit print finish if you miss a pallet.  Either way really, but if you have new guys alot, definitely a good thing.

I sold mine about a year ago.  I just stop the press if I'm running into trouble with a shirt.  Like others said, you have to keep it clean for it to work.  I guess the main thing I didn't like about it is that occasionally one of those 4X's or larger would get snagged by it and rip it in half.  It happened a few times here.
It's not a job if you love doing it.

I wouldn't run a press without it, It is way faster than stopping the press. If you watch the press and make sure that the board is actually recognized as empty, you never print a bare pallet.

I train people to
-Pull the shirt off, letting the pallet go empty. ( or just watch the screen if you are behind and dont even get it loaded)
-(Since you are holding the shirt already you dont have to grab another)
- Immediately watch the screen to make sure that the board blinks blue then turns white indicating it is empty, once the press indexes
-Continue to load the shirt.

We run a CHIIID so I guess if there is not visual cue then it would be difficult.

If it rips a hoody or a 5XL ( it is so rare...) who cares. You save so much time not stopping the press it pays for those shirts.

At JNJ they would use it all the time...…..mostly for gluing pallets, color changes, and other interruptive tasks. Of course there are alternatives depending on equipment. I have found them to be one of those "Operator Preference" issues which is a whole other topic!
