I may need some website help

As my host tried to install the CAPTCHA feature on my contact page, they discovered that my Joomla version is so old that there were no plug-ins available.
So, I may either need to update to a newer version, or start from scratch.

My main requirements are cheap, simple, and cheap. LOL!
Obviously, real details will need to be ironed out via message or email.

Just update joomla version 3.9.

See if it will get everything as is.

It was built, without charge, many years ago by someone not into it any more. It is still almost original, as I rarely had the need to modify anything.
It contains a catalog that updates itself.
I'm kinda' like the guy on TV in an ad who in a group takes out his flip phone and asks why he would ever think about replacing it since it still works.
Interestingly, I get far more compliments on it's simplicity, than derision that it's old fashioned and has little interaction.

who was trying to install the captcha thing?

The CAPTCHA, or something similar is/was needed to thwart the evil spammers tricking Joomla into turning my incoming contact message form into a PHP mailer.
The host, Webmasters, is unhappy with the flood of mail it sometimes generates, as well as its sleazy purpose. They were also the ones I was going to have install the extension.
