I showed Jason basically how to do a re-trace using the Bezier tool to drop nodes and the Shape Tool to manipulate the node points and shapes.

The tattoo image was a number of re-traced sub-objects for the various ribbon parts as line art.  Then the ones from the left to the middle were Combined and a Fountain Fill applied from Pantone Turquoise to White.  Then the "pieces" from the middle to the right were "Combined" and a Fountain Fill of White to Pantone Pink as the requirement was to go from Turquoise to White to Pink.

I would not be the least bit surprised if there's not another or even better way to do it.

I'm certainly not a Corel Guru by a long shot.  But I usually stumble through enough to get the job done, thanks to Diane (CYW) for the tips to get me started a few years back.

I'm always learning at this stuff and thanks to you guys for posting your problems (?) so I can see if I can do what is being asked for myself.

I had this to be given away in the free art section.  Killer Graphics was the only one that took me up on it so far.

It's a layered file in photoshop.

I think screenxpress' way of using the bezier tool or freehand tool is the best and easiest as well as fastest way of recreating that logo.   Actually a fairly simple logo to recreate and once you get one of the ribbons created it is just duplicating and doing a little above and under action to get that interlocking look. Then just using a gradient blen for the colors across all the ribbons and bam.

For an experienced Corel user, your talking about 10-15 min tops to recreate the graphic portion of that logo

oooh Richard, that must hurt! lol! "Ultimate" leaves no wiggle room, I'll guess we'll just have to settle for "really great" as long as Diane is busy with her new toy, a Versacamm.
She visits, contributes, but not enough to satisfy CorelDRAW learners, and those of us with a crush on her.

(that last comment may be good enough to get her here for a while, but with the Versacamm, being so perfect for one off Christmas gifts maybe not, but here's hoping!)
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Hey, I'm sure that none was taken as Richard also loves Diane. He is "The Man" though, and don't forget it!

Frog I see you still got that lump in your throat for Diane LOL  Yep pretty simple art to retrace..if your not sure about retracing with bezier tool, print the art and lay on a light table and pencil it then ink and scan to a tiff to vector it, I know I skipped something here.

Nice job and yes no worries. I miss the hippie gurl as well.  We cross paths every now and then on various forums and in beta sessions.  Diane knows her stuff thats for sure.  I believe her focus went to Corel and Embroidery though. Not sure as it has been a while.
