Big Drying Rack and Lawson Geniette
« on: September 13, 2017, 07:55:47 PM »
I have a good size drying rack (a little short of 6ft L x 5" deep), and a super old / well used Lawson Geniette for sale. Would like to get $500 for both the rack and the press, but I want the real estate back so i'll entertain any reasonable offer... Don't really want to try to ship this big rack, so pickup would be needed. We are Richmond, VA. https://richmond.craigslist.org/for/6305025939.html

Good luck. Tried getting $1,000 for a Lawson Mustang and two large drying racks. Not one call.

Yeah I figured I might have to take the lawson to the landfill, its pretty junky.... never seen another one like it. Think its late 70s / early 80s era.... but someone needs a drying rack right? They are awesome to have when you need em.

It seems like some gig poster hobbyist would be glad to take this off your hands, at least at a "...or else it goes in the landfill" price. But since gigposters.com closed their forum, I don't know how you'd find that kind of interested party.
Nice guys laugh last.

We're moving over the next couple of months, and are literally throwing away a large Filbar flat stock press, a drying rack and about 3 dozen frames... sometimes, the stuff gets too damn old and no one wants it... I cut my teeth on a Filbar in '72.

Sold!

Hard to believe but I'm so glad its outta here. Feeling pretty lucky right now.

Very happy I never have to assemble / disassemble / move that damn drying rack again. Or mess with the stroke adjustment / screen drop on that lawson....

I love it, but I cant help but think that flatstock is for the birds.

Framingham, MA, 20 miles west of Boston. 34" x 44", looks like 40 shelves. We used to do a lot of election signs with it 15 - 20 years ago. then supercheapsigns.com came along selling at cost to the public, and we stopped doing them altogether. No one wanted "Raincote" signs that they had to staple together anymore, much preferring the convenience of corrugated plastic.

I remember early 90's, printing both apparel and flat stock when I decided to narrow my focus and dump the signs and such. Gained a lot of room (which soon mysteriously filled up with shirt stuff! LOL!)
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?
