large format screen exposure in the Austin, TX area
« on: August 28, 2017, 01:20:19 PM »
I moved into a new spot and had to change my screen room set up and exposure equipment to fit in the space.  I recently bought a used Tri-Light that is still waiting for a piece of glass and an outlet.  It doesn't look like it will come together for me this week and I have a poster job due on friday.  I'm looking for a shop in the Austin, TX area that can handle a larger format screen exposure.  The frames are 38"x48" at minimum.  42"x50" at maximum.  20"x26" image area.  film positives/ no CTS.  would need to shoot em tue/wed- 8/29 or 8/30.

if anyone out there fits the bill please let me know.

thanks!

You'll probably find someone, especially if there are any local flat-stockers, but just in case...
When I was a tad, with simple blocky area designs (no dots)
I've faked this with just a hunk of glass and ol' Mr. Sol.
A few years back, we had a member down under who went one better, eliminating the glass and adhering the film to the screen with "terps".

Another seat-of-the-pants method is a true vacuum unit utilizing a Space Bag.

Results may vary.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

I can help you out.  Located off Anderson and Burnet.  5k MH with vacuum expo frame that can fit up to 58x46 frames comfortably.  Would have time tomorrow or Wednesday.  Shoot me a PM with your cell and we can coordinate.
