Nylon Jackets - Transfers?
« on: June 22, 2017, 12:41:51 PM »
We have 12 nylon jackets we need to decorate.  I wanted to do nylon formula plastisol transfers on them (lower temp so the nylon won't melt and it will adhere properly).  The minimum at FMexpressions is 512 pieces for some reason though.

Any recommendations on how to decorate them? it's just bold text in 4 different locations.  Does someone do lower quantities of nylon formula transfers?  They are black jackets that need yellow or gold color ink I believe.

Cut vinyl? Plenty of nylon-friendly options.
Assuming that none of the text is smaller than 3//8", it should be

I thought of vinyl, we just don't do it in house.  Recommended cut and weeded vinyl supplier?

That is probably the easiest route.

Thanks

Stahls does it. You may also want to put out the request on Member to Member here

Stahls, or someone who has the print and cut stahls media.  Honestly my shop could probably do it no problem.  Shoot me a PM and I can get you taken care of.

Nylon ink with a UB. And a jacket holder. Tricky though if you've never done it before

Four locations could also mean a special holder for sleeves (assuming they are lined)

We actually have a jacket hold down but boy that makes it high risk, definitely going to stick to heat press instead, especially at 12 pieces.  We have used it for some stuff but flashing nylon I don't see working properly, even with a grey base.  We also sold our manual a couple years ago anyway.  Sleeves would be an issue as well, 2 layers.

Going with Stahls.  Thanks

It's just Golden yellow, no need for print and cut

We only stock the white stalhs and print colors onto it as needed.  Easier than stocking tons of random colors.

This is a tangent but someone called in asking if we would print 1000 black poly totes 3 color and presumably underbase. I said hell no, there are easier and faster ways to make money.

Does anyone know how to do this well!

Depending on the art and the style of tote, standard poly printing can be super fast and easy, or transfers may work better. No "best" way without knowing the details.

What kind of poly tote? Are you talking about the shiny cinch bags or a poly knit?
