So I`ve ordered some squeegee blades in China
« on: June 03, 2017, 01:31:31 AM »
Done this before so I know what to expect. 70/90/70 I`ve ordered last time was softer then what I used to get in the States. This time I bought 75/90/75 , the 80/90/80 is out of stock. At $25/ 4m roll you can`t complain. The lady I spoke to told me the blades have FIMOR printed across the blades. Not sure if she meant they printed it on there, I can`t really believe original FIMOR blades will be so cheap, not even in China.

They are NOT Fimore....they are 100% bootleg fakes, I know because  I am in China and I have already inspected them. However I will say the quality is actually pretty decent. I will also state that $25 a roll is actually pretty expensive. These sell here in China for less than half that price.

One note though, as you will most likely already know the shipping will kill you. In fact when I checked with DHL the rate for shipping was more than the price for the squeegee. How many rolls are you getting. I have a 20' container leaving soon for the US. Its obviously a slow boat, but if your looking for a better price and cost savings on shipping I can help.

I got 5 rolls-shipping worked out as $80 via DHL express. Not sure why do not ship via China Post EMS for a fraction of the price. In the end Japan is really next door. But still even with the high shipping cost a 4 m roll will still be only US$41. No supplier in Japan can beat that.

And yes Yeah I figured  as well that Fimor is "Fake News".

May I ask who is your source in China? I normally go through Alibaba.com even though I have now established a direct lone to that company I buy from.

I should have noticed your shipping to Japan, so yeah...that would make it a LOT less expensive than the US where I assumed it was shipping too. I live in Zhongshan China, and I do not deal with "middle brokers" like Alibaba, I locate and negotiate directly with factories only. There are some benefits to this, mostly its about quality control and of course competitive prices. The drawback can be that typically I must buy in sizable min orders.

My current squeegee company is located in a town called Foshan in the Shunde District, just north of me, maybe 30 minutes drive. My min order is 40 rolls per durometer. I will not get into my costs, but my wholesale clients typically pay under $20 a roll but usually buy in large quantities (100+ rolls). I offer tiered prices based on qty so I cannot give exact prices.

As for the shipping with DHL, its because Alibaba has made deals with them to become the preferred shipper and while EMS is cheaper (sometimes) the service sucks and tracking can often be all but impossible. I shipped 18 cases of products to Ohio (USA) last month air via DHL was actually cheaper...and it arrived in only 6 days!!

A single roll?.... Sorry but a single roll with the export paperwork, shipping time and invoicing makes it virtually profitless.

If there was a lot of folk here that wanted to put together a "group order" I would consider it, but not for a "knockoff" name brand to the US...that would be against the law. My factory has a 40 roll min order, and I am not sure I can get it on my container that leaves before than as its made to order. I will look into it if enough folks want some low priced squeegee that is of better quality.

You can try aliexpress.com if you want to check if they are good or not.
