Suggestions for some supplies/equipment.

I need a few suggestions on where/who to get a couple things.


1, Thermocouple Donut.


2, Tension meter. Doesn't have to be to of the line.


3, Location that re-stretches static frames.


I've checked a couple places and are either way out of line on price or don't have it at all.

we use to use pocono mtn in PA for re stretching frames...there were the closest to us at the time.  Look into buying new ones also.  Might be cheaper than shipping back and forth.

Spot Color re stretches for us. They use the red glue and its always a great job

A note on the re-stretch. Especially with the new shipping standard of size trumping actual weight, I found it sometimes not a lot cheaper to re-stretch than buy whole new frames with shipping only one way, and often thrown in with a minimum purchase. Of course, this outgoing shipping cost can vary greatly with distance.

We've always stretched our own, but a few times it was extremely easy to just buy new ones stretched. Of course, when they get messed up, we have a vintage M&R Blue Max stretcher that does a good job for us, we like the red glue too, not as fast as instant, but lasts a lot longer.

Xenon restretches without using any kind of grinding process to remove the mesh and existing glue.  Located just over the line in AR from Branson.  If you get a donut, know that it is only 1 piece of the dryer mapping puzzle.  This is a service I offer as I have a calibrated donut probe.  You also need a non contact temp gun and heat strips.  I am a proponent of dryer mapping at each change of seasons.

Is the ATKINS THERMOCOUPLE DONUT typically used for older more questionable dryers?  We have a brand new one so should be good.


Seems to be difficult to locate a source that carries both the probe and reader.

yep , that will work just fine or get a gun and hit the print exiting the dryer

Ryonet is coming out with new thinner screens with high end S mesh and higher tension. We have few coming in to test. If they work OK, they should be cheaper to ship and thus reduce the ownership cost. I have no idea on the pricing though and many other options listed here are good. I only bring it up as it might be an interesting concept (trying to save on the shipping).

Excited to get feedback on testing, thanks Pierre! One concern that we have is that they may be too thin for everyone's presses so that is one area of feedback we are looking for, also ink management, ensuring that they are not too thin for that. Weight and rigidity look good however.

too thin on the frame profile. They are half height. So 1.5" wide, but what seems to be only 1" or possibly 0.75" tall.
Mesh is standard S mesh from SAATI if I understand correctly. Ryan will know more.
