New screen tension?

Got some new screens in today, toss the meter on them 24 newton's great others 13 to 15 so I average out to 14.  I was hoping higher so they could relax to that one day LOL so would you send them back?  frames are 20 x 24  and  20 x 28 if that makes a difference in tension.

Does whoever you bought them from say what tension you should expect?

This is the reason I stopped using pre made screens from my supplier.  I get all of my screens from Spot Color, and ask them for high tension screens.  They have never let me down.

Yep, I'd hope for at least 20 with most of my 140-230 meshes

I would send back and request higher tension.  If higher tension cant be achieved - get a new supplier.

Another vote for sending em back.  Hopefully it was a mistake by your supplier and they'll make it right.

Yeah the company is a great company can't bash them, just not bought new screens in a bit and really never had a tension meter to check tension back in the days, I'm sure they will correct it with no problem.

Yup, personally I would use Spot Color.  Their screens are really good, like really really good.

Brannon and Scott do a great job and A+customer svc. Used them for a long time. In app 2 wks time however; we'll be printing with tensions btwn 25-50 after work hardening.......that should be interesting. Looking forward to observing results

4-5 years ago I had 3 orders come in in mid teens on a new screens.
 Returned all three of them and went Newman. I still have some aluminum and wood ones laying around that I use for a simple prints with dark colors.
But since then, I did not buy a single static frame.
Newmans with Shur-Lok mesh panels.

Tony with rollers.. never thought i'd see the day 

they'll be all over the place to match the variance in tension.

shoot for 30 across the board, no need for more than that with today's mesh.
