Electric presses
« on: October 09, 2016, 11:18:50 PM »
I just recently saw the ads for the Anatol Volt electric line of presses. I assume it`s the same technology as it is used in the Brown ElectraPrint. Now the Anatol presses do look more advanced which you would expect from a new product. Seems very intriguing to have a press that does not require a compressor at all, that can be plugged into a 200V line and then you are ready to roll. What are the downsides of these kind of presses? If this technology is so great why are not all manufacturers going this route?

About thirty years ago, the first auto presses I saw were the Advance Multiprinters which were all electric with the tables staying level and each head coming down like our manuals (or the clamshell flat stock presses which were very closely related)
The other presses that were cranking out shirts at the time were hydraulic Precision Ovals (a shape, that seems to have found favor again)
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

I think the all electric thing is great, but I believe some features are left out that many shops would want from a press that runs on a compressor. Lack of air screen clamps and pressure regulation for the choppers is probably the main thing.

I've gotten a few quotes on the Volt, it's not cheap, but for my current location it might be my only option. I don't think I'd have enough amps to run a large compressor, auto, flash and dryer. It would also be my first auto and from what I hear, there isn't a whole lot of maintenance, which is always a plus. I'm almost certain I'm going to pull the trigger on one come ISS AC in March.

The Anatol is well designed.  It is easy to use and well built.  Really can't go wrong with the Volt.

I've never been a fan of the electric press mainly the Brown presses, but I think if I had to buy a press again the electric from Anatol would be my choice hands down.  I've talked with them about the manual screen clamps and my thought was they could install electric screen clamps, but if you've never had a press with air clamps and coming from a manual you want miss anything.  They have a few things I know they are asking questions on and will address those on future builds, now on Frog point of the old multiprinters and I had one, if you look at the Roq and MHM which are very nice presses are actually using the same tech as the old multiprinters just reversed the heads from in to out.
