Any suggestions on a clear tape
« on: September 16, 2016, 12:19:30 PM »
That actually pulls without leaving any or very little gummy residue. The tape that we are currently using is not consistant and really slowing down the reclaiming department. Any suggestions are really appreciated..thanks

Many of us use one from ULINE with the rubber adhesive. I'm a little scattered right now but someone else should chime in with a link.
A search may even work, as it's come up a bunch.

here you go, I found it

We use this: https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-6536/Natural-Rubber-Carton-Sealing-Tape/Natural-Rubber-Tape-25-Mil-3-x-110-yds-Clear?FromOrderHistory=Y

But we purchase through a local supplier that is cheaper and delivers for free.  8)

That's because that tape uses acrylic adhesive. You want rubber.

I'm surprised that we haven't seen any of the Intertape fans chime in.
Intertape offers the Central 510 2.2 mil.

We use 3M From Costco.

13$ ( CAD) for 8 rolls.

Peels perfectly and we pick up 100 rolls at a time when we get the nitrile gloves from Costco anyways,

Worth a look.

Do you have a style # for that 3M tape?

We've been using 3" Intertape 510 for a long while now.  It will leave some gummy on the screen over long runs (we tape to the squeegee blade corners so that's a lot of pressure over a run) and can get a little over adhered form time to time but it's not a bad trade off for it's excellent water resistance.  Price is good if you find it from the right place.  The wrong place will hose you on it.

The Costco 3M 3710 looks good but 2" only may be limiting.

Yes...........rubber based is best although one manufacture that I know of and they are in Italy. I do believe you can order from Uline but yes........expensive however the benefits more than more than justify the money. Packing tape is a bandaid and causes the problems that  have been happening. Should be in Monday to review things with Rose so we can review. I don't need to tell you how bad those screens got and how
That
happened. It was not me

The way we tape our rollers leaves only 1/4"-1/2" gap between the gorilla tape fixed to the frame and the emulsion.

2" is more than enough for us for sure, it only takes one strip to close that gap.

Don't matter to me, but next time your at Costco pick up a box and give it a try! And get some 4L of Kirkland tequila for 22$... You Americans are so lucky haha
